|The vast majority of thermal insulation materials have porous structure, easy to absorb moisture. After moisture absorption and moisture content, the thermal conductivity of the material increases. When the moisture content is greater than 5%-10%, the increase of thermal conductivity is the most obvious in the porous material.
This is because when the material in the pore with water (including water vapor), and water diffusion in pores of steam movement will play a major role in heat transfer, water and thermal conductivity of the thermal conductivity of air is about 20 times bigger, it caused significant increase of its effective thermal conductivity. If the water in the pore becomes ice, the thermal conductivity of the ice is greater, and the result makes the thermal conductivity of the material increase. Therefore, the waterproofing and moisture avoidance must be paid attention to in the application of non hydrophobic heat insulation materials.
|Heat insulation sheets is a new type of insulation material with EPE foam for substrate and coated with aluminum foil or plastic film. The base materials has non crosslinked structure, there are a lot of air holes inside, can be very good to prevent heat conduction, but its surface is not smooth and air may be flow through the material, so must cover a layer on the surface which can stop the air through, it will radiation-proof if make reflective treatment to the covering layer, then basically put an end to heat transfer in three ways: conduction, convection and radiation.
